Dear Jefferson Parents & Students:
On behalf of our staff, I would like to welcome all new families and welcome back those of you who have been a part of the Jefferson family.
The entire staff at Jefferson is committed to providing an exemplary education to all students. Our standards for student learning and conduct are high. We take responsibility for providing a learning environment that will promote the academic, social and emotional development of every child. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents, and community members to achieve this shared educational purpose.
Providing a safe environment for students and staff is of the highest priority. The Uniform Dress Policy and School-wide Discipline Plan will be enforced at all times. Also, for safety reasons, please be aware of the following:
- There is no supervision on campus until 7:15 a.m. Children should not come on campus before this time.
- When dropping children off at school, please do not park in the “drop off” area. Always pull up to the side walk (not along side another car) and have your child exit on the side of the car closest to the sidewalk.
- Always have your child cross the street in the marked cross-walks. If a crossing guard is on duty, wait to be escorted across the street.
Attendance is extremely important, and we expect students to attend school every day unless they are ill. It is difficult for students to keep up with Jefferson’s rigorous academic demands when even a few days of school are missed.
We encourage you to keep in contact with your child’s teacher throughout the school year. Your child’s success is most important to us. We are looking forward to another productive year. If you have any questions, please contact school personnel at 305-7230 between the hours of 7:30 and 4:00.
